Threshing Floor & Inner Healing Meeting

Main Topic: Spiritual Readiness and Inner Transformation

  • The meeting centered on the concept of recognizing spiritual “seasons” and responding with intentional action—prayer, praise, stepping into one’s calling, and sharing the gospel.

  • Biblical stories (Peter walking on water, Mary of Bethany) were used as metaphors for stepping out in faith, overcoming self-doubt, and pursuing closeness with God.

  • Emphasis was placed on moving from an “outer court” (superficial spirituality) to the “inner court” (deep, personal relationship with God), paralleling the journey from mere religious routine to genuine personal transformation.

  • Pastor Garth encouraged participants to eagerly respond to God’s call (“Come passionately, come hither”), emphasizing that faith grows strongest in challenging seasons.

Key Points

  • Jesus calls for passionate, eager responses and intentional pursuit of His presence.

  • True spiritual maturity involves leaving comfort zones and confronting personal “giants” (self-doubt, grief, past trauma).

  • The threshing floor was discussed: a place where pride and superficiality are crushed so that the authentic self can emerge.

  • The importance of not confusing religious activity for genuine spiritual progress was taught; results and impact come from intimacy with God, not performance.

  • Participants were urged to let go of past disappointments, unhealthy attachments, and “masks” to experience true freedom in Christ.

Group Discussion & Testimonies

  • Several people shared their own experiences: facing tough weeks, feelings of inadequacy, and breakthroughs in inner healing when honesty and vulnerability with God were embraced.

  • There was a discussion clarified that while God does not “need” our forgiveness, we sometimes harbor unforgiveness toward God due to misunderstanding or pain; releasing this is part of the healing process.

  • The role of grief was discussed: it is natural, but lingering, unaddressed grief can be spiritually unhealthy. Reconciliation with God in grief leads to freedom.

  • The “crushing” of the threshing floor was described as a necessary step for spiritual growth, followed by being “lifted up” into new freedom.

Decisions Made

  • The group resolved to pursue deeper authenticity, vulnerability, and honesty both with God and one another.

  • There was consensus to continue focusing on intentional spiritual growth, facing inner struggles, and supporting each other’s healing processes.

Additional Discussions

  • Clarifications were given on not promoting doctrines that God “needs” forgiveness; The focus, rather, is on our own need to let go of offense toward God.

  • Honor in leadership was discussed: titles are less important than genuine honor and recognition of callings. God rewards sincere and true honor.

  • Grief and healing were discussed from both spiritual and practical perspectives, with advice to avoid unhealthy, prolonged grieving by seeking God’s comfort and reconciliation.

  • Testimonies were given about healing from past trauma, the importance of God's love as a foundation for loving others, and the value of letting Jesus “remove blocks” to our spiritual and emotional health.

  • Ask God to examine your heart, reveal hidden pain or pride, and bring healing.

Announcements

  • Continue regular gatherings for prayer, worship, and vulnerability (with a “burn” prayer meeting now moved to first and second Wednesdays at 7pm).

  • Community cleanup on May 2nd.
